I generally make it a point to never respond to the ridiculous and typically moronic comments left on our Web site's forum. No good can come from it. But there's a time or two when you wonder: Is this really happening? Is this what we're dealing with here?

Case in point: A measly preview of today's prep football games, capsule-style. Here are two comments left on the article.

* "Ok what about FHS and PV?"
* "okay..... well what happen to Shiprock's game??
Good going Daily Times... kind of expected that from you... just like there was no report on their game against Espalola."

For the record, Farmington and Piedra Vista play Saturday. Doesn't make much sense to preview those games today, right? And realistically, there was a full story about the Scorps in today's paper (looking at their running back situation). But leave out that one-paragraph preview of a game that's still a day away? It's obviously a conspiracy. You caught me.

The second one takes the cake, though. The one thing that could have solved this commenter's issue would have been to simply read the full preview. In doing so, he or she would have noticed a blurb about the Shiprock Chieftains. I can't make this stuff up. I did some double-checking just to be sure, and wouldn't ya know it, the Chiefs' game was right there for all to see (except for our haphazard commenter who apparently didn't feel the need to struggle through a grand total of three paragraphs). Lovely.

As for the claim that The Daily Times didn't report on Shiprock's win a week ago. That's absolutely correct. But then it's hard to do so when we have no idea what happened in that contest. In fact, SHS coach Ricky Ballard called Thursday to apologize for not providing a score and stats from his team's win over Espanola Valley. Ballard also wanted to know the right phone numbers to call to do so in the future, so ... problem solved.

Now, I just have to figure out who Espalola is, and I'll be much better off.
