Help us track scores, stats

Over the weekend, we took some heat for not getting all the prep scores into the paper. And rightfully so. After all, we pride ourselves on getting each score, especially preps. However, we were a bit frustrated with the lack of coaches calling in game reports from the road. Obviously, with just Darren and I, we can't be everywhere, and thus are dependent on coaches calling in reports.

Sometimes, they forget.

Consequently, we're asking folks associated with teams, be it parents, team managers or assistant coaches, to give us a hand. Here's a brief that will run in the paper the next few days.

Attention sports fans: correspondents needed
The Daily Times has too small a staff to cover every game, but that doesn't mean we're not interested.
We are looking for volunteer correspondents from every varsity high school fall team. If you are associated with any team as a coach, player, parent or high school journalist, and if you are interested in calling in scores and highlights, please contact us.

I understand that the first thing on a coaches mind following a tough loss or nail-biting win isn't necessarily to contact the local media. However, fans throughout the county turn to us for sports scores in the morning, and we'd like to be able to provide that information.
