Connie Mack Final Stats
Here are some of the overall leaders from the Connie Mack World Series.
Note the Four Corners Thunder finished ninth in batting average and team fielding and sixth in ERA.
The Thunder, realistically, were the eighth-best team, ahead of the Bayamon (Puerto Rico) Giants and the South Troy (N.Y.) Dodgers.
I spoke with MVP Deven Marrero today. Marrero said he wants to win a College World Series with Arizona State and has been wanting to go to college for a long time.
A 17th-round draft pick, Marrero feels his defense is MLB ready. He said he's working on improving his strength and becoming a better hitter.

Jonathan Walsh from the Dallas Tigers should be on that list leading for both Batting Average and Slugging Percantage....... He went 6 for 11 getting a 545 batting average with a slugging percantage of 818. Not to mention with two walks leaving him a on base percantage of 615. He was awarded the Big Stick Award for best hitter of the tournament.
Jonathan Walsh did not meet the minimum requirement of 10 at-bats or 15 total plate appearances according to the official stats provided to me after the final game.
I'm not really sure why. I do have him at six hits and a .545 average, which calculates to 6-for-11. Three of the hits were doubles.
