PV Hires AD

Piedra Vista has hired Kelly Thur, former Aztec dean of students, as their new athletic director.

PV principal Ann Gattis left a message on my cell phone tonight that I got too late to put in tomorrow's edition of the Daily Times.

"We believe he'll be a great addition to our leadership team at Piedra Vista High School," Gattis said on the message.

Thur also coached Aztec's boys and girls golf teams.

Thur becomes the third athletic director at PV in the past three years. I'm off tomorrow, but I'm sure sports editor Darren Vaughan will be working on some interviews. Though he might not be in a great mood -- a big Nuggets fan, he attended their Game 6 debacle in Denver as the Lakers clinched.
