Throughout the week, we'll be hearing from players who are competing in the 44th Annual Connie Mack World Series. How tough was last night's loss, how gratifying was the big win, how do these guys pass the hours leading into a big showdown at Ricketts Park? They'll provide such insight with daily posts.

Without further ado, let's meet the bloggers.

• Levi Dwinell, a product of Piedra Vista High School, is playing with the host team, the Farmington Cardinals. Levi is a top-flight pitcher and infielder who is headed to Tampa, Fla., in the fall to further his baseball career. He's a local guy who has long dreamed of representing the Four Corners at one of the best amateur tournaments on the planet.

• Chris Coleman, who's playing with the Arizona Firebirds, hails from Farmington. A pitcher/outfielder, Coleman helped Farmington High capture its fourth state championship in as many seasons this spring before moving to Phoenix for the summer. Coleman is fighting a nagging wrist injury this week, but hopes to help the Firebirds reprise a little 2006 magic in his hometown.

We'd like to thank the ballplayers for taking time out of their hectic schedules to provide a first-hand account of the highs and lows that pervade the Connie Mack World Series. We'd like to extend a "good luck, fellas," as well.

And to the readers: enjoy.

wow.......last nights game was definately the greatest, most fun, and intense game i have ever been part of. Being on the field with so many people in the stands, is one of the best feelings in the world. Not to mention when everyone was standing, and cheering in the top of the seventh with bases loaded, two outs, and me at the plate. That was one of the best moments of my life......no lie. That moment is what i live for....seriously. The win last night definately gave us a huge boost of confidence going into this next game. Im just glad we could win one for all the people who have supported us all this time. Alot of people didnt think we could do it, but guess what??? we did it.  This  tournament is one of the greatest experiences in my life, and i wont trade one moment of it for the world.

Well, we couldnt pull it out tonight. It seems as though the first game jitters got to us. I mean, with four errors, its tough to win a game. but i think it is behind us, and all we can do now is look forward to 2marros game. with one game under our belt, i hope we will be able to produce. All negatives aside, it was a good night though. i really love the kids , and all the support they put out. seeing them, reminds me of myself not too long ago, asking for autographs, hats, and whatever else i could get my hands on. so, all in all, it is a great experience

So... with the tournament officially underway, the excitement is growing. We will be playing tonight at 8, and im not gonna lie, i am pretty nervous. I, as well as my team have been waiting for this day for a little over 2 and  a half weeks. And its finally here! We have been practicing hard, in hopes of putting on a great show. We will be hitting today at noon, and again at 5 to stay in game mode  all day. Today is a big day, a day that my team and i have been waiting for ever since we started playing baseball in this town.

I have been going to the connie mack world series ever since i can remember, and now im finally playing in it. im really looking forward to our first game 2marro, as well as a win. as you know, a farmington team has not won a game in 4 years, so hopefully we can change that soon.
